arbonne x taraleighrose

A little angel over at Arbonne approached me to review any product I wished to try out. A couple days later, I received a box filled with Arbonne products.

The formulas are based on botanical skin care principles and formulated without animal products or animal by-products, parabens, formaldehyde, PABA, mineral oil, petrolatum and phthalates toluene. If you're a long time reader of mine, you know that I don't wear a lot of makeup. However, when I do I like to make sure it's as natural as possible. I've only got one face, so I don't like to mess around with it too much.

As any girl, I love unboxing. The first thing I notice when I open the packages is how lovely the product smells. That's a bigger deal to me than I thought in the past. I've actually omitted some face creams because their smells were too intense. The lipstick in particular smells like something out of a Katy Perry music video- almost like cotton candy. Yum! I love the sleek packaging, just a classic black. Plain yet effective, just how I like it.

The list of products I wanted to try out and shoot with were:

1- Arbonne Makeup Primer

I've wanted to try out a makeup primer for a while to create a flawless canvas before tinted moisturizer or foundation. Since I only wear foundation for photoshoots and that I have a couple coming up, I thought I would try this one out.

I. Love. It. It's like spreading liquid silk all over my face. Seriously, it's good stuff. I have some sensitive skin and it didn't upset or irritate at all.

2- Arbonne Sheer Finish Tinted Moisturizer with SPF 15 (in Medium Beige)

My gynaecologist once said, the best aging cream is SPF. I've worn some ever since. It's a little thicker than I had anticipated, but provided good coverage considering it's a TM. Will definitely use throughout the summer. Moisturizer? Yes. SPF? Yes. Tinted? YESSS. Trifecta!

3- Arbonne Blush (in Blossom)

Every time I go out to buy blush, I come back with bronzer. It's like I'm a fly being attracted to light. Every trip to Shopper's results in a new bronzer that was "like so cheap and cute and bronzy, like I couldn't just leave it there". Ugh. My makeup collection is beyond what I need or even use, but I'm pretty sure I don't even have a blush in Toronto.

Ok. Maybe just one... or five?

I liked this one very much, I got lucky whilst choosing the colour online as sometimes the picture and actual product aren't the same shade. It's a good salmon pink for my skin tone. Will work this summer, yay!

4- Arbonne Smoothed Over Lipstick (in Magnolia)

This lipstick line came out in April 2015 and smells amazing! It was actually the culprit for the box smelling like flowers and cotton candy!

This is a thick, shiny lipstick and felt very moisturizing to my Sahara-desert-level-dry lips. I'm into nudes (biiiiig surprise), so when choosing my shade online, I opted for this one. It's like a light pink nude which is great for me to start steering away from my light beige nudes. A great summer colour that I will surely be rocking this on a rooftop patio! FYI, my lips are naturally darker and more red so I am wearing it in the pictures below.

I asked my friend and photographer Evangelia to do a little shoot and I think the results are fresh and summery! Just what the season is calling for!

A big thanks to my girl Virginia at Arbonne. Here's a link to her store, go check out the wonderful products!
