My top 5 Instagrammable breakfasts
“I don’t have time for breakfast.” - said everyone at some point in their life.
However, breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day and I started noticing that I wasn’t as alert and able to think in my lectures when I didn’t eat in the morning.
Now, it’s a habit to eat breakfast and I make the effort to eat a nutritious meal every morning. Being a creative, I always seek out things that are aesthetically pleasing; food included. So, I’ve listed out my top 5 healthy (ish? Not claiming to be a nutritionist or anything) “Instagrammable” breakies.
1. Avocado Toast
DUHHHHHH. K, so I’m totally that girl that orders avocado toast when out having brunch. It’s filling… always pretty well priced and usually presented on some board that makes it Instagrammable. You feel me.
2. French Toast
I’m not always healthy. Bite me. I just love that you can make toast sweet or salty, depending on how you feel when you wake up. I have a sweet tooth and I love dressing my French toast with berries, berries and more berries.
3. Yogurt Parfait
Good for on the go, I love dressing up natural yogurt (or coconut yogurt) with whatever fruit’s in the fridge.
4. Breakfast Bagel
For any of my readers that went to College Jean-de-Brebeuf with me, you KNOW this gyal loves her bagel déjeuner (French for breakfast bagel).
5. Acai Bowl
You didn’t think I’d leave this one out, right? I meannnnnn really. If my boyfriend has taught me anything, it’s to research what I buy / eat. He’ll research for hours before purchasing anything.
I looked into acai bowls since everybody and anybody has been posting about them in the last year or so. I’m trying to cut down on sugar, and was mortified to see that so acai bowls sold contain 30 + grams of sugar. That’s more than a Redbull, guys. Lilo foods has these amazing (coming soon!) and only contain 9 g of sugar. They’re designed good for the girl or guy on the go, so totally up my alley.
